to the home page of  Snodland Community Association, the organisation that runs the Community Centre in Snodland.

Over the next few pages, you will find out about how the community centre serves Snodland and its neighbouring area.

Whether you’re keen to join one of the many clubs that operate from its premises, attend one of our events, or are interested in hiring the facilities for an event of your choice, we hope you will find what you are looking for.

Exciting things have been happening at the community centre and after a wait of some 30 years the Centre has been extended. For further details of how the Centre is now even bigger and better, click on our ABOUT page.                               

Many thanks to those who have helped us achieve our objective. A special thanks to Andrea, who held a special Zumba Marathon, which raised a welcome £500 for our funds. Also, to the Shortmat Bowls club, who have operated from the Centre from the day it opened in 1987 and kindly DSC02750-001donated the proceeds of their special charity day on Easter Monday to the Association. A cheque for £819, which is seen being presented to Dilys Crook, the Association’s chairperson, will prove very useful when equipping the new facilities. Finally, grateful thanks are due to Vince and Joan O’Connell for their kind donation of £100 on behalf of Saracens Gym.

The Association is always looking at ways to make the Community Centre better and to involve the community more in what it tries to achieve.

It was great therefore to receive the news that Kestrel Home Improvements – a company new to the High Street in Snodland – was willing to help us improve some of the windows facing Potyns Field by donating five new windows.

Thanks are due to all involved with Kestrel, especially Mark Ramsey (pictured below with former vice-chairman Chris Howick), who helped organise this very welcome gift and the two fitters, who went about their work with their customary good humour and efficiency.
